Distinctive training in dance and performing arts
for beginners to pre-vocational level
Brooks Dance Academy provides excellent dance training for young dancers aged 3–18 and is based in Lancing, West Sussex. Students attend our school from our surrounding areas of Shoreham-by-sea, Worthing, Southwick, Steyning, Hove, Brighton, Chichester, Horsham and beyond.
We ignite creativity, technique and passion in dancers through versatile and comprehensive training in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, tap, contemporary, acro, street, commercial, musical theatre and PBT.
Dancers can explore exciting performance opportunities with our troupes and companies, taking part in events from local festivals and dance competitions to the Dance World Cup, as well as take their ISTD exams up to pre-vocational level. We offer classes in baby ballet right up to elite-level, and embrace every individual student and their journey.
Each year, many of our graduates successfully audition for prestigious vocational dance colleges such as: Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary dance, Performers College, Addict Dance Academy, Wilkes Academy, Bird College, Tring, Emil Dale, London Studio Centre, Northern School of Contemporary Dance and Laban.
We use a few main locations for our classes: our very own Brooks Dance Academy Studio on Lancing seafront, the dance studios at Sir Robert Woodard Academy in Lancing and the dance studio at Worthing High School. The school originally opened in 1999 at St. Mary's Church Hall in Shoreham-by-sea, and then moved to Victoria Road Primary School, formerly named The Shoreham School of Dance, and has gone on to become one of the top schools for dance training in West Sussex.
