Building confident, disciplined dancers in a
supportive and inspiring environment

Brooks Dance Academy
Inspiring dancers from their first class to advanced training

At Brooks Dance Academy, we provide structured dance training for children and young people aged 3–18 in a supportive, professional and inspiring environment. From a child's very first class through to advanced and competition training, we focus on building confidence, strong technique and a genuine love of dance.

New to dance?

It's never too late to start. We welcome new dancers aged 3–10, including children with little or no previous dance experience. Tell us your child's age and interests and we'll recommend the best place to start. As their confidence and ability develop, there are opportunities to progress through our wider Academy training programme.

Opportunities to progress

From recreational classes to exams, performances, competitions and advanced training, students can follow a pathway that suits their ability and ambitions.

Training at Brooks

We offer classes and opportunities in ballet, PBT, modern, jazz, contemporary, tap, acro, lyrical, commercial and musical theatre with clear progression from beginner through to advanced levels. Our experienced teachers provide structured, focused training for both recreational dancers and students who want to take their dancing further.

Ballet is at the heart of our training at Brooks. Led by our former Principal Jackie Brooks, an Arts Educational School graduate and vastly experienced ISTD teacher, our ballet programme develops strong classical technique, musicality, artistry and discipline from the early grades through to advanced vocational work. Students can progress through graded ballet alongside PBT, repertoire and pointe work, providing a strong technical foundation that supports their development across every style of dance.

For those seeking additional training, opportunities include:

  • Competition teams

  • Solo, duet and trio coaching

  • Exams and vocational preparation

  • Advanced training and performance opportunities

Brooks students have gone on to compete at an elite level, including internationally at Dance World Cup and Global Dance Open. Each year many students progress into professional training.
